What effects will the 2012 prophecy have on the economy then?

korge asked:

Even if the 2012 prophecies aren’t true, is it possible that there might be widespread fear among the public to crash the economy (bank runs, stock market plunge), therefore realizing a financial doomsday?

Is it possible to predict movements in the Stock Market ?

Total Market Crash Predicted in September

There is a new technical indicator in the financial world. It indicates a total market collapse and it is called the “Hindenburg Omen.”

The Omen, was developed by a blind mathematician named Jim Miekka. He built it by analyzing all former market crashes. The Hindenburg Omen is predicting a market meltdown in September.

Mr. Miekka came up with the Omen in 1995 using a formula that traces data like 52-week stock levels and the moving averages. The Omen was set off this week when there were 92 companies that hit new 52-week highs on Thursday and 81 new lows.

The Omen predicted every market crash since 1987, but is not necessarily always accurate. Market analysts said only about 25% of Omen alerts have led actual crashes.

It seems most investors have moved into cash positions, even before the Omen appeared. Something strange is happening.
