Earthquake Dream: Can someone interpert this?
I don’t remember quite how it began, just mostly what I remember before the Earthquake is frustration over the fly swatting game in Mario Paint (an old game for the Super Nintendo), something I usually do great at. But that was unimportant, just normal stuff leading up to the earthquake. Awhile later, I got up and suddenly the earth started shaking, I knew it was an earthquake but found it weird since I live in an area that never gets earthquakes, especially ones like this. It only lasted seven seconds but was about a six or seven on the Richter scale.
During those seconds, the porch roof in front of my bedroom window temporarily steepled up and came back down. Amazingly, the only damage my house sustained was a few shingles falling off the roof. However, the rest of the neighborhood was totalled. Just piles of rubble. What was weird was how it affected the skyline of the city (I live around the edge of the downtown of a mid-sized city). There was no partial damage. A building either became rubble, or was intact (or, in a few rare cases, the building was falling over, but never fell over). There was no pattern ot logic to it, either. But what’s weird is that I can remember every building’s fate in the dream. The buildings that stood were a mixture of old, masonry buildings and newer, steel buildings. Same with the destroyed buildings (some of which were newly constructed). What was weird was that many buildings that remained standing were ones that I had some sort of emotional attachment to, but there were exceptions (favored buildings that went, other buildings standing). This was especially weird since none of the dishes or cups in my house broke or fell off the shelves, and only a few breakables actually fell. A local Italian store in the Little Italy section of downtown (two blocks from a favored, destroyed building) was perfectly intact.
Somehow in the dream, I eventually ended up at another house, one my family is looking at to move into. The earthquake also affected this house, but only one wall fell in and the steps to the basement were deteriorated. Everything else was fine. But where it got weird was that an ex-girlfriend that I’m still friends with had dreamt this two weeks in advance, and she dreamt other things two weeks before they happened in the dream. But in the real world, I’M the one who dreams of events yet to come that end up coming true. But nothing like this before. I’d dream about stuff like the temperature spiking to 84 (dreamt it in January, happened in March just like in the dream) or one side of a snow sculpture melting away weird in a way to damage it.
So my question is: Could this dream, and all of the factors into it actually mean something important? Is it a literal prediction of a future earthquake in central Pennsylvania? A metaphorical explaination of events that will happen in my life? Or just a sign that I’ve been watching too much It Could Happen Tomorrow (Weather Channel)?
Hmmm…..sorry my question doesn’t have an easy answer or an obvious answer where you can reply “Google it”, but I’d like some insight on this.
