Is Dec. 24, 2011 The Real Mayan Doomsday ?
Is it possible that calculations about the end of the Mayan Calendar have been wrong ? It seems generally accepted that Mayan doomsday is December 21, 2012. Another school of thought is proposing that the Mayan Calendar actually starts on August 12, 3113 BC , and given their assumption of a 5,200 year cycle of life, doomsday would fall on Christmas Eve , Dec. 24, 2011. There seems to be an assumption that the final date of the Mayan Calendar is the End of the World when actually it is the end of a cycle. We really have no idea what is to come. A good guess would be that whoever or whatever might have propelled this ancient civilization to such incredible technologies and scientific heights might be returning to check on their progress.
