Cancer is beautiful in this picture

In the words of the song, ‘Santa Claus’ by Abraham Cloud : “I’ve got every disease known to man, waiting inside me , to surprise me , when I least expect it. ”
Who would have guessed that these two beautiful objects that look like accessories for a new Lady Gaga outfit are actually Cancer Cells . Two Human Cancer Cells ready to divide into four. Yes, these beautiful little creatures are out to destroy a life. They’re derived from the now famous “HeLa” line of cancer cells, which were taken from Henrietta Lacks in 1951 and used for medical research without her permission.

This is one of the winning photos at The annual Small World Photomicrography Competition sponsored by Nikon; The competition aims to showcase “the beauty and complexity of life as seen through the light microscope.”
